World of Letters (My Learning Train) addresses the needs of children learning English as a second language. In keeping with the approach of the series, this book uses activities to enable the development of the four language skills for clear communication—listening, speaking, reading, and writing. The book uses a combination of two methods for reading—phonics and whole (sight) word reading.

The book includes speaking and comprehension activities, along with flash cards at the end for introducing and reinforcing concepts. Additionally, the authors have employed a variety of tools and techniques such as stories, rhymes, dramatization, and role-plays for language development.
